Gilmore Girls Secrets

People talk about how they hated Lorelai for joke around when things got serious, but I liked that she joked, it kept the funny and prevent the show from becoming another soapy teen drama.

Am I the only one who loves all the characters?

I’ve noticed a lot of hate on gilmoregirlsecrets lately. I feel like the only one who loves each character exactly the way they are, flaws and all.

it always seem awkward to me that they’re talking and joking so long even they are in a rush.. stop talking and go get dress or get in the car!!

Lorelai’s proposal

I know, Lorelai is an independent, self-confident woman and that’s what I love about her. She’s perfect for my feminist soul. But for some (inexplicable) reason I was shocked when it was her who proposed first.
I was really mad with Luke. And I still am.

Sookie

I really dislike Sookie. She is always whining and complaining. I don’t understand why her and Lorelai are such good friends. Plus Jackson is also quite whiny. I love Gilmore Girls and I know Sookie is nice but she is just too over the top for me.

it annoyes you that Lorelai cant be serious even when shes mad. its actually just a coping mechanism, i have the same thing, even when i’m mad i still joke, sad; i joke. nervous, same story. but it doesnt mean she cant be serious. its just her way of coping with stuff thats out of her control. its like, a comedian, he cant just turn off the jokes at will, neither can she. :)

It really annoys me that Lorelai was so jokey with Rory after she told her she needed to go to the psychologist weekly in 6.11 (The Perfect Dress). She could have been more understanding and/or sympathetic. Maybe the jokes were a way to suppress her guilt, but I think ignoring the possible issues Rory had about the boat incident and/or the separation period was a very unmotherly thing to do. I felt like Lorelai and Rory never really TALKED about their issues—they just made up and it was done.
