It really annoys me that Lorelai was so jokey with Rory after she told her she needed to go to the psychologist weekly in 6.11 (The Perfect Dress). She could have been more understanding and/or sympathetic. Maybe the jokes were a way to suppress her guilt, but I think ignoring the possible issues Rory had about the boat incident and/or the separation period was a very unmotherly thing to do. I felt like Lorelai and Rory never really TALKED about their issues—they just made up and it was done.

  3. thattallgirl said: I get what you’re saying but, life isn’t like 7th Heaven and not every issue needs to dealt with soo seriously. Lorelei knows that Rory can take care of whatever is going on. So, rather than being an “Emily”, she just makes a joke and moves on.
