Gilmore Girls Movie
Hey guys, i know this is a secrets blog so this doesn’t technically belong here but many people have asked about a Gilmore Girls movie so i had a little look around and i found some stuff that may be of interest.
On June 26th 2011 Jared Padalecki (Dean) said he’d do a movie:
“One hundred percent!” he says. “I would love to. I really would truly love to. It was so fun. I have nothing but fond memories of that show. I came to it straight out of high school, I grew up on the show, and I’d love to go revisit that character.”
On the 23rd May 2011 David Sutcliffe (Christopher) also agreed:
“It would be fun. I love those girls, I love all the people on that show. When you’re in the middle of something, creating 22 episodes a year, and you are there 14-15 hours a day, it’s so difficult to have perspective on what it is you are accomplishing and how special it is. I remember to both Lauren and Alexis, “You’re going to someday look back on this and realize ‘holy shit, we really did something here.’ But it will take some time.” I think that feeling might be the thing that allows them the space to consider making a movie.”
On April 8th 2011 Lauren Graham (Lorelai) said:
“There are always discussions – It’s something that I’ve always been open to. I think it’s something that if it’s done in the right way could be really wonderful. I email with Amy [Sherman-Palladino] and all the cast. I think it’s a conversation. It’s harder and harder to make a movie anymore, but I think there has been discussion about it.”
Matt Czuchry also said:
“Fingers crossed.”
I couldn’t find anything too recent from Alexis however, most recent was Feb 18th when she said:
“I don’t know. I was really happy with the way they wrapped up the series in the finale and I thought they brought the story full circle. It was very satisfying for me. I don’t know what the story would be, but I would be curious to find out what it would be.”
And on July 31st 2010 Scott Patterson (Luke) also said:
“Sure, yeah, i don’t see why not. I would welcome that and i hope that that happens and i think the fans deserve it. Um, and i think the fans are so loyal and faithful that it probably will happen. I don’t have any information on it but i think, you know, there’s some energy moving in that direction from, you know, little tidbits i hear from around town.”
So it seems most of the main cast are onboard with the idea and Scott sounded very hopeful back in 2010. I just think no one has really got themselves together enough to get serious about the idea. It could be good, but i’m really not very hopeful of the idea myself.
